    $100 Room Challenge, Decorate

Loft Bonus Room Refresh | $100 Room Challenge Week 1

Hey friends! It's time for another room makeover! The $100 room Challenge is hosted by Erin from Lemons Lavender & Laundry.

When Erin invited bloggers to join her for this fun monthly challenge I immediately knew I wanted to tackle our loft bonus room.

If you're thinking what loft bonus room? It's because I've only shared this space once on the blog and that's in my home tour.

Our loft bonus room is an open and bright space. It looked wonderful when we first moved into this house 2 years ago and set it up as a playroom office combo.

Over the last year though, this space hasn't been functioning well for our family. The kids are older now, and we no longer need this space to function as a "playroom" but more of a hangout space.

Admittedly I've also neglected this space while working on other projects around the house. So now our loft bonus room looks like this {it's not pretty folks}.

Since this space also serves as my office, it's where I do all my blogging {I only have a desktop}. However, that will be changing pretty soon. So stay tuned for more info on that project next month.

For the time being though I still need to work in this space. So I'm going to spruce up my desk area as well.

My biggest issues with this space right now is that it feels very cramped and lacks any sense of style.

My overall goal for this makeover is to make our modestly sized loft bonus room {8x12} feel larger and function better. And, of course, make it look pretty too :).

The Plan for our Loft Bonus Room

I'm lucky to have a pretty big stash of decor items, so all the changes above are using pieces we already own except the woven basket. I will be using my $100 budget to fill in the gaps where needed.

I'm really excited to get started on this challenge and create a space that really works for our family! Plus it will be fun to see how different our loft bonus room looks in a month using mostly items we already own {"shop your home first" is my decorating mantra!}.

    Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5

Be sure to check out the other bloggers that are participating in the challenge and see what they have plan!

Thanks for stopping by, see you next time.

I love shopping my home first! I think moving things around allows you to see it in a totally different way and sometimes it is an even better way than before 🙂 Good luck with your makeover. I'm excited to see your new space.

First and foremost, I want your campaign desk... 🙂 Love you ideas for the space and always a great idea to shop your house first. You never know what kind of treasures you'll find. So happy to have you joining the challenge!

Great space Linda! I love how many of our extra rooms have the photography lighting stands in them lol. I can't seem to find a good space for mine, and I'm too lazy to package them up between uses.
