Hey there! my blogging buddies and I are back with another roundup of rental friendly tips and tricks.
This month it's all about the bedroom.

It wasn't until I gave my bedroom a huge makeover back in the fall, I realized how much I've been missing out these past few years by putting our bedroom on the decorating backburner.
I'm sharing 4 low commitment rental bedroom decor ideas from our bedroom makeover that have definitely made a big impact on how our bedroom looks and feels!
4 Renter Friendly Bedroom Decor Tips
1. Add a lamp {or two}.
Don't underestimate the impact of great lighting in making space feel more soothing and relaxed. Having the soft light from a lamp versus the harsh bright overhead lights is a great way to instantly create a better ambiance in your rental bedroom. We almost always use the lamps in our bedroom over the ceiling light.

2. Don't be afraid to layer a rug over carpet.
Layering a pretty rug over the quintessential builder's beige wall-to-wall carpet is a great way to add some color and character to your rental bedroom decor with minimal effort.

3. Add a mirror{s}.
Mirrors should definitely be part of your rental bedroom decor arsenal. Decorating with mirrors is a tried and true way to instantly give any room the illusion of being bigger.
Mirrors are also great for reflecting light around your bedroom making it seem lighter and brighter.

4. Don't skip the curtains!
Curtains are always a great touch for a bedroom. In addition to bringing in color, pattern, and just a general finished look to your room. They give privacy, light control and add warmth.
Hanging them high {closer to the ceiling} and wide {pass the window frame} is another great trick that makes your room look taller and make the window look more substantial.
Even if you don't want to put holes in the walls, there are many tutorials out there showing how to hang curtains without having to drill into your walls. Like this one HERE and HERE.

Linda, I love your style. I just came across your blog yesterday and was instantly in love. That says a lot since you are the only person I have ever followed. I just admire your confidence in yourself, buying pieces that I have seen yet passed by. I always second guess myself and so I over think it and walk away, which in itself is crazy since if someone asked me I would be the first one saying,go for it! But for myself I just don't feel that I have the ability to group things together and make it pretty. I read a lot of your blog yesterday and when you said you like symmetry, well that was it,I had found someone like me. I need that or I feel uneasy in a room instantly. Love your master room. Im glad you took the challenge and explained how you go about planning it out. So I have a question for you on my room layout, ready cause its been driving me nuts for 2 and 1/2 years. Its a rectangle, not large 12 x 20 but the door is in the center of the room on the long wall. On your left are 2 windows 1 on the short wall 1 on the long wall and on your right nothing until the small entrance to closet on one side and bath on the opposite side. So where should I place the bed and our dressers? If I place it in the center then when you open the door you basically walk into the bed, if on the left, which is where it is now then you have those windows, oh we have no overhead light not yet anyway, when I had it on the right no light from windows which is fine for me, but close to bath. When I have placed it on the shorter wall it's a disaster, it feels cramped. I only have a queen sized bed,and 2 narrow side tables that I plan on painting, then of course the dressers. Yes the woods all match just hand me downs in great condition, and I'm not about to say no to that blessing. I don't want a TV in there, but I'm not opposed to a seating area or a pretty little vanity area. I just haven't gotten or looked for anything because I don't have a direction, no plan. Obviously on the end with no windows is the closet and short hallway to bath so that wall isn't 12 ft, I'd say 9 ft but, that's a guess. Any help, any ideas would be appreciated. I have sliders and I have tried everything in my mind, but like I said I lack confidence. OK well, sorry for short novel, but once I saw your rooms and your style, well you drove me to ask since I was so impressed. Love how I blamed you? Seriously though, I really have, never followed anyone, but you speak what's in my mind but I can't get it out and I hope that makes sense. It's like, when I grow up I want to be you, and trust me, I'm older than you. So before I die I want to be like you. You inspire and seem very motivating, not judgemental. Thanks Linda, and God's blessings to you and yours. Happy fall!
