    5 easy ways to upgrade your rental kitchen!

    Hey, friends! So today were chatting about the best renter hacks for your kitchen.

    Given that my family and I have moved 7 times in the last 11 years, and 4 of those moves we lived in rentals {including our current house}. I know from experience the struggle is real when it comes to rental kitchens. Whether it's a lack of storage space or lack of style or anything in between.

    So I've rounded up 5 easy ways you can upgrade your rental kitchen without kissing your deposit goodbye.

    5 easy ways to upgrade your rental kitchen!

    {please pin individual images from the original site}

    1 - Counters

    Let's be real sometimes the dated countertops in a rental kitchen can leave a lot to be desired. Before now I thought this was something you have to live with. However, Linda at Make Do and DIY has proved me wrong this brilliant DIY countertop update using contact paper.

    2 - Storage

    One of the most common problems renters face in the kitchen is a lack of storage {I can definitely attest to this}. Megan from the Homes I Have Made wrote a great tutorial via ForRent.com on creating a functional pantry when your rental does not have one.

    3 - Floors

    Is it me, or does every kitchen rental have the same sand-colored linoleum floor? Well, why not try these removable vinyl floor tile stickers that are designed to cover your old floor tiles {affiliate link}. They can be removed without damaging the floor so they are a perfect temporary solution.

    4 - Backsplash

    Nothing gives a kitchen an update look like a beautiful backsplash. Similar to countertops in the past I assumed you had to live with bland kitchen walls. Well, I'm happy to say I was wrong.

    This beautiful DIY subway tile backsplash by Aimee from The Crazy Craft Lady using removable wallpaper is genius! There are so many removable wallpaper options out there, that you can most certainly find a design to match your individual taste.

    5 - Add some personality

    In all the homes we've rented over the years our current rental home by far has the best kitchen {although I still dream of one day having a beautiful white kitchen}. It has plenty going for it but it definitely lacks any real personality. To create some interest I added these inexpensive mirrors {$10 for all 3 from Ross Dress For Less} of my stove.

    I hope you found this roundup of tips for your rental kitchen helpful friends!
