Let me tell you, every month I get a boatload of home decor catalogs {Pottery Barn, Ballards, West Elm, etc…}.
On one hand, I do like getting them because as a blogger they provide me with a ton great of inspiration.
BUT!…
On the other hand, there are times I feel a twinge of disappointment knowing some of the beautiful pieces that grace the pages are out of my price range.
{I mean $1200 for mirrors, I don’t think so!}.

That’s why I love thrifting for home decor pieces. Thrift store finds are a great way to stretch your decorating dollars. With a little imagination and elbow grease, you can transform a cheap

This was one of the very first projects I shared on this blog. These lamps are still a fave of mine. I got this pair of lamps for just $10!
And a can of spray paint is all it took to get this high-end look. Plus, they still look 3 years later.

But I loved the bamboo details and large size.
The results after a couple of coats of gold spray paint had me holding my face home alone style. It looked like a piece that cost a few hundred dollars easy.

Large scale framed wall art can be expensive even if it’s mass-produced {meaning even at Target it’s not going to cheap}.
A great way to create a custom wall art and cut the cost is to DIY your own by repurposing a thrift store frames.
I created this large wall art {31 1/2 x 41} for less than $20!

It’s not hard to find a glass cloche at your favorite home decor store. However, the price is not always what I want to pay.

Hi Linda! I go to every and any thrift store because you know never know where you will find a great treasure! Budgets are a reality and almost all my makeovers have to be done on a budget so yeah DIY’s are my best friend!
