It's no secret that Disney's Frozen is the one of the hottest themes for children parties right now. We recently hosted our own Frozen inspired birthday party for my daughter Kayla's 5th birthday.
It was so fun after all the planning and set up to see it come together and watch Kayla and all the little girls having so much fun! I'm pretty happy with how it came out, so let’s check out the details, shall we?
The desert table {my skinny bookcase covered with a pair of dollar store tablecloths} was something I really wanted to incorporate into the party without breaking the bank.
I was able to do just that by keeping the sweets offering to a minimum {I'm sure the moms where thankful}. I also used containers and Christmas decorations I already owned for the tablescape. The DIY snowflake garland took about five minutes to put together and cost less than $4!
The centerpiece is simply cupcakes from my local grocery store that I dolled up using snowflake printed wrappers {another dollar store find} and DIY cupcake toppers.
*Placing a small glass container upside down in the middle of your cake stand (like I did above) is a super easy way to make the cupcake for your special guest stand out.
*Add height to your tablescape by wrapping boxes with inexpensive paper. The white wrapping paper I used below is from (you guessed it!) the dollar store.
Personalized Hershey kisses, winter themed Dove chocolate, Rock candy from Party City and chocolate covered pretzels rounded out the desert table. Yum!
Of course there was some sparkle! The glittery branches are from Homegoods and the snowflakes where a steal at six for a $1!
On the other side of room I continued the white and blue color pallet by using white tablecloths on both the dining table and the drink station. I found the felt snowflake mats at the dollar store, I use clear plates so you could still see the design. The effect was really cute!
The party was during lunch time so it was the perfect opportunity to use some of the cute Frozen food ideas I saw on Pinterest. I only did a few of them, you can find a bunch more ideas for Frozen themed foods on Pinterest.
*When cut in half styrofoam balls make a great "snowball" place or food card holders. Just add a small slit on the top and stick your card in like I did above.
Both the kids and adults loved the "Arendelle waters" punch! I mix equal parts blue Hawaiian punch and sprite. The girls also loved the milk bottles I found at Target to put their "blue drink" in.
Elsa's snow "castle" would not be possible if it wasn't for this amazing DIY 3D paper Elsa by family.disney.com.
The favor bags, water bottle labels and banner where all DIY projects I tackled for the party.
You can get full directions on how to create the favor bags and free printables in this post HERE!
After weeks of planning, pinning, countless DIY projects and so many trips to the dollar store that the cashier and I were practically on a first name basis, it was such a satisfying feeling to see it all come together. It was an awesome party and Kayla loved it and the girls had a blast and really that's all that matters!
Thank you for sharing in our Frozen birthday fun, I hope you found a bit of inspiration while looking!
