A sweet Valentine's Day surprise for kids!

Hey friends! After making those easy and delicious no bake valentine treats I shared on Saturday. I thought it would be fun to plan a sweet Valentine's Day surprise for my kiddos while they were at school!

So I decided to set up a special after school snack for them in the playroom. I included my chocolate dipped Oreo and wafer cookies, fresh strawberries, and strawberry milk. To make it even more memorable I created this sweet little tablescape.

Although I know my kids would have been happy to come home to just the treats I made. I love taking advantage of these opportunities to create special moments that will have them look back on their childhood with fondness!

This was a super simple little tablescape to put together. You can easily create something similar in your own home {see source list below}! There is no right or wrong way.

To create this setup I use pieces that I already had around the house, like colorful books, apothecary jars, and milk bottles.

I'm not a big fan of red so I took inspiration from the soft colors of conversation hearts candy.

As an extra sweet touch, I rounded up some of the kids books about love, and displayed them on our book ledge {yay for free decoration!}. A simple heart garland made using a heart paper punch and free paint chip samples that I clipped to some twine adds a bit of whimsy!

Cute paper products, like the stripe plates and heart straws {all clearance items that I got last year from Target} added the finishing touch to the table.

If you haven't already, be sure to check out my no bake valentine treats, they are as delicious as they are pretty!

The kids were so delighted when they got home! Their reaction of hugs and kisses {for me ?}, was all I needed to know that this made them feel special and loved!

    Mission accomplished ❤️!
