Create easy and affordable wall art using book pages and inexpensive frames!
Hey everyone! So adding wall art to our homes is a great way to give it a personal touch. Although, wall art can be expensive, using pages from books is a great way to add affordable wall art to those blank walls in your home staring at you.

For me, that space is the blank wall between the windows in my dining room. I've been trying to find something to hang in that spot since we moved in over a year ago.
I ordered this book from Amazon full of beautiful botanical artwork for $30. I was inspired to purchase this book after seeing Emily Clark's beautiful botanical wall art that she shared came from this book.
This book was worth every penny when you consider that 1 art print can easily cost $10+ but this book has 400 beautifully illustrated flowers for $35!
This book combined with inexpensive frames was a wonderful solution for creating some affordable wall art for my dining room!
How to neatly remove pages from a book.
You can just tear out the pages if you want, but doing it that way you stand a chance of ruining the surrounding pages, or worse the page itself!
Here's a super easy way to remove pages from a book {without ruining it}.
Use a ruler or in my case a paint stirrer in the crease of the book to hold down the pages. Firmly hold up the page you want to cut out.
Now, carefully using an X-Acto knife cut the page out of the book as close to the spine as you can.
You can see how cleanly the page came out with no damage to the surrounding pages. Plus, now your page has nice clean edges, making it easier to frame.
To frame my neatly removed pages, I used four of these 11 x 14 matted frames from Target. They are the same frames I used for Jaden's Star Wars gallery wall.
These frames seem to only be available in stores now, as I don't see them online anymore, but these are similar.
I spray painted the frames using 2 coats of Rustoleum Bright Gold spray paint.
I love how they turned out and how affordable this whole project was! The gold adds just the little touch of glam I was looking for!
Thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets and estate sales are great places to look for old books that you can use for affordable wall art or any number of DIY art projects!
Ordering online like I did, is another good option.
Have you tried using books as wall art before? Any books you would recommend for framing?
Thank you for visiting! See you next time!

Do you by any chance know if you can sell illustrations you have framed? Would there possibly be any restrictions on this?

Thanks so much Jeanne! ?

I love this idea, Linda! You can find some really gorgeous photos that look much better displayed on the wall than hidden in a book! Plus it's a great way to get some beautiful home decor without breaking the bank. Love those prints!

Hi Celeste! Totally agree with you! I'm all for saving a beautiful book from being cast aside! I love that it's budget friendly too!

Looks beautiful Linda! I love using architectural books! I used the Time Life books for my master bedroom wall art and love the way they look, and if you get tired of them (which we always eventually do) there isn't a huge investment when we want to change them out.

Thank you Carli! Your bedroom is so beautiful, I love the prints you used! You know I love change ?

Thanks Erin! I've never used fabric myself, but I love the idea!
