Mother's Day is right around the corner and it's all about showing the mothers in our lives how special they are.
I'm lucky to say I've had many moms in my life growing up. I know that's an odd statement. However, if you read my giving back with compassion post you know I was born in Haiti and moved to the states as a young child to live with my extended family.
As I've gotten older and now have kids of my own, I realize how beneficial it was to have so many caring mother figures in my life.
So I thought, why not make her day with a simple and beautiful {yet budget friendly} Mother's Day Brunch? This is a wonderful opportunity to connect, enjoy each other's company and celebrate these special women in our lives.
Mother's Day Brunch On A Budget
Decor and more:
I started with a fun and festive pink color palette inspired by all the pretty American Greetings Mother's Day cards, gift bags, and wrapping paper I found at Walmart.
You guys most of the food for the brunch also came from Walmart. Making it very budget-friendly. Plus it was so nice not to have to run around to a bunch of different stores #winning.
Now not only did I find the perfect Mother's Day card, but I was able to incorporate the gift bags, and wrapping paper into my brunch decor.
See this pretty American Greetings gift bag? Well, I just knew it would add just the perfect sentiment to my simple Mother's Day brunch display. You can also see a peek of the wrapping paper.
The wrapping paper added such a fun and festive touch to my simple mimosa bar. Seriously you guys, brunch is not brunch without a mimosa {or two LOL}.
Food:
Ok on to the food {my favorite part}. We want to wow mom and make her feel special when she see's this set-up however, there's no need to slave all day cooking.
The goal here is to make the store brought food look special. Lucky for us that's really easy to do by simply serving it up on some pretty dishware versus the container it came in.
It's also amazing what the addition of a little powdered sugar and fresh fruit garnish can make. These are simply mini donuts that cost $4 for about two dozen. The powdered sugar and fruit gave it a very gourmet look.
Another easy tip is to garnish with the fruit that may be in the dish.
For these $3 blueberry scones, I added fresh blueberries to the plate {of course a sprinkling of powdered sugar too}. And for the mini lemon poppyseed muffins, I added slices of lemon.
A plain white $10 grocery store cake got a fancy makeover with a fake flower and macaroons. To get this look, cut the flower stem to size, wrap it in plastic wrap and gently press it into the cake.
Tablescape:
Even the tablescape only took minutes to set! This whole thing should be easy and stress-free to put together. We want to celebrate and honor the wonderful women in our lives, but there's no need to drive ourselves crazy in the process.
Grocery store flowers simply placed in a thrifted white milk glass vase made for an easy and inexpensive centerpiece.
Something special for mom:
After the meal, it's the perfect time to #MakeHerMothersDay even more memorable with a thoughtful gift and card that says just how much she means to you. It would also be sweet to let each lady grab a rose on the way out.
My heart just swells knowing every time she looks she thinks card she will remember the great memories you've created with this Mother's Day Brunch.
So head to Walmart to pick out the perfect American Greetings Mother's Day card for all the women you want to celebrate this year! You will find everything you need including tissue, bags, and wrapping paper in the greeting card aisle.
Bonus, buy 2 American Greetings cards and earn $2.00. Don’t forget to head on over to the American Greetings site for more Mother's Day inspiration.
Thank you, friends, for taking the time to visit with me today!
