    Project: #1room30days - Week 3 Big Boy Room Makeover

    Hey everyone! I can't believe were already at the end of week 3 of Project: 1 Room 30 Days big boy room makeover! Where has the time gone?!

    Check out week 1 and week 2 if you haven't already!

    week 3

    I still have a ton left to do, so I really have to start hustling!

    Here's where we're at with our big boy room makeover:

    I was so grateful that hubby put the desk together! I love Ikea but putting their furniture together usually ends in swear words for me ?!  Jaden loves the desk and most importantly {to me} it's doing a great job of keeping the Legos of the floor so far {hallelujah}!

    After moving things around a bit, we finally settled on configuration 'C' for Jaden's Lego storage and bookcase. Although I like configuration 'B'  the most, it wasn't very functional for Jaden.

    The big task on my to do list this week was getting the headboard upholstered.  Well you know what the say about the best laid plans {that's right, they often go awry}, and this plan was no exception! I hit a major road block when trying to screw the plywood to the existing headboard. No matter what I did, I could not drill through the metal!

    The dent you see in the picture below, is after almost 10 straight minutes of drilling ?!

    I knew at this point I needed help! The plan now is to work on it this weekend with hubby. Hopefully having his help and getting a new drill bit will move this project along! If that doesn't work then I'm moving on to Plan B, which is spray painting the bed.

    On the bright side I'm loving the campaign nightstand! I planned on painting it, however after having it in the room for the last week,  I'm not sure anymore. I've come to really like the natural color.

    This next week is gonna be a big one for me!

    ~Finish the bed {either painted or upholstered}
    ~Patch holes in wall
    ~Hang up artwork and wall decor
    ~Shop for bedding and a few small accessories
    ~Paint nightstand {if I decide to still go that route}

      Everything is coming together nicely! Wow, didn't know it was that hard drilling into a metal bed. HGTV makes it look so easy, right! 🙂
