{I have a secret!} I've never set a formal table for Thanksgiving in my entire ten years of marriage, although we've always had Thanksgiving dinner at home. I actually don't even know why that is, maybe because we're more make a plate in the kitchen and just casually find a spot kinda folks LOL.
In any case I was determined to break that streak this year and I did! So I'm extra thrilled to share with you today my blue and white Thanksgiving tablescape.
To say I'm happy with the results would be an understatement! I love how the blue and white paired with orange and metallic accents creates a fresh and elegant look without being too fussy and formal.
My inspiration for this table came from this beautiful twenty piece dishware set I scored at a local antique mall.
I love the chinoiserie feel to it, plus the orange accents and bird motif gives a slight nod to the fall season. An the price ya'll was AMAZING! After a twenty-five percent discount, I got all twenty pieces for under fifty dollars!
Now that I had my jumping off point, the table was a cinch to put together!
To break up the busy pattern of my new pieces, I layered them with blue willow salad plates. Clearly they were meant for each other!
Blue and white pieces I already own and a graphic table runner I bought from Ross over the summer really helped pull the blue and white color scheme together even more.
To play up the orange accents, I used small pumpkins we already had scattered around the house. It's always a good idea in my opinion to shop your home first before heading out to the stores.
Grocery store flowers arranged in a large blue and white ginger jar made for a super easy centerpiece and added more pops of orange.
I go the little salt and pepper shakers from an estate sale {for a dollar a piece!}, and they're really one of my favorite things on the table.
Of course there was no shortage of brass and gold accents {my current obsession}!
And there you have it, my very first tablescape for Thanksgiving! I hope you enjoyed this little tour. I had so much fun putting this table together that I can safely say this will be the first of many I will be sharing with y'all.
How about you? Is your table all set for Thanksgiving ?
