Welcome to part 1 of our festive blue and orange fall home tour. This year I took a more colorful approach to decorating our living room and dining room for fall and I hope you like it!

This is our very first fall season in this house and I'm excited to share with you our newly updated formal living and dining room all decked out for fall.
The past few years my fall decor has always been on the neutral side.
This year I used my already colorful decor in the front rooms as a jumping off point for this vibrant blue and orange fall color scheme.
With so much color and pattern in both the living and dining room. I decided to keep the fall decor to a minimum.
Adding mostly a few pretty pumpkins here there.
And switching out my green pillows for a warm orange pair instead.
Leaving no doubt what season we are in.
As I mentioned in my 6 natural elements to use for cheap fall decor post.
Dried hydrangeas are a pretty and textural addition to any fall decor.
The most telltale sign in the living room that fall is on its way is the white "pumpkin patch" tray coffee table centerpiece.
I love these velvet like pumpkins and have collected a few over the years.
They make a pretty fall display mixed with some real mini white pumpkins from Trader Joes and my DIY faux pumpkin succulent planter.
This corner got extra cozy with the addition of a snuggly blue blanket and textured macrame pillow.
Moving on to the dining room, you guessed it more pops of blue and orange coupled with warm wood tones.
I know I've said this before. But I just really love the mix of the rustic trestle dining table with my favorite IKEA slipcovered dining chairs.
This tablescape is one of two I plan to share with you this fall season so I kept this one simple.
Since this tablescape is very simple, I wanted to make sure it wasn't boring.
The best way to do that is to use pieces that provide interest through the use of pattern, texture, color, and a little something fun {like the brass deer, and pagoda candlesticks}.
My existing blue and orange chinoiserie patterned dinner plates pairs perfectly with my Blue Willow salad plates.
These small oven-to-table pumpkin cocotte might just be my favorite part of this easy tablescape. I'm pretty sure I will be using them again for my Thanksgiving tablescape.
The woven placemats and white drinking glasses give a casual air to the place settings, which is exactly what I was going for!
Not to mention they also add texture to this simple tablescape.
This centerpiece was a cinch to put together. I use 2 bunches of $4 flowers from Trader Joes, that I placed in the DIY faux pumpkin vase that I shared last week placed on top of an ornate pedestal.
Like the orange pillows in the living room. These alstroemeria flowers add a colorful and seasonal pop of orange to the dining room and tablescape.
Even the hutch got a little fall touch courtesy of the little mercury glass owl. Plus mini white pumpkins tucked into my blue willow teacups.
