Hey y'all! I'm so glad you stopped by, because I'm sharing part one of my holiday home tour today! You can find part two HERE.
I'm very excited to show you our entryway and dining room all decked out for the holidays.
So come on in and welcome to our home!
If you follow me on Instagram you will notice that my entryway got a little update {I will share the details on my thrifty makeover after the holidays}. I enjoyed decorating this area even more now since said update.
The bamboo chair {a $14 estate sale purchase} was not part of my original entryway update. However, it was just the piece I needed to add more functionality to this area.
One of the perks of living in the south is having evergreen magnolia trees everywhere! It's my favorite evergreen and it's free!
One of the easiest go to holiday decor for me is simply filling bowls, jars, or any container {like my little sleigh I got from Michael’s last year} with ornaments. It's so easy to customize to your style and color scheme!
Let's move on to the dining room. If you read my Thanksgiving tablescape post you know my dining room is right off the entryway.
I kept the overall decor in the dining room fairly simple.
Our table setting is casual, yet small details like the use of complimentary ribbons {both of these great ideas are from Pinterest}, and inexpensive but pretty and festive plates {mine are from Walmart} really makes it feel special.
Y'all I'm in love with my centerpiece! It was easy and quick to pull this look together.
I started by placing the candlesticks {all thrifted} in my empty wooden box {you can use any container you like}. To give it some volume I create a base with a few bunches of silk magnolias flowers from Walmart, which already had pine cones and little glittery berries attached to it.
From there I just tucked in fresh fir, cedar, and magnolia leaves {my faves} on top and around my silk flower base. Once I was satisfied with how it looked, I added some more glittery pine cones and coordinating ornaments here and there to give it a little pop of color and to tie in with the entryway.
A pair of glass nutcrackers {a $1 for the pair at a yard sale!} on either side adds the finishing touch to my holiday tablescape.
I love the look even more when the lights are dim.
Another reason I went with this centerpiece is because its low and doesn't block the focal point, which is our charming wood Christmas village set I got from Crate and Barrel's after Christmas sale last year.
I just love how it looks on our sideboard! I'm not sure the photos do it justice, it looks amazing in person {even the kids where impressed hehe}.
For the base I used an inexpensive piece of faux fur I thrifted over the summer. I added boxes underneath the throw to add some dimension. Of course I had to find a way to add some brass animals {don't you know me at all LOL}!
Last week I shared a sneak peek of my nativity scene on Instagram. These cute ornaments were a bargain at Target's after Christmas sale last year.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed my holiday home tour so far. Come back Wednesday for part 2, I will be sharing my great room holiday decor!
Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
