Hey friends! So if you saw my Instagram stories on Saturday, you know I was toying with the idea of going "curtainless".
Wait, what?! You're not following me a Instagram {wagging my finger of shame ?}. If you're not already following me, I would love it if you did! I post photos from around the house that never make it to the blog. Of course now that they have Instagram stories, you get videos too like the ones below!
Ok, back to going to curtainless. It's something I've been thinking about for like the last month or so. I've seen some amazing rooms lately that have me loving the relaxed look of bare windows!
I took these pictures on Saturday of my living room with and without curtains.
I loved the look immediately you guys! It's just feels so much more relaxed, open, and bright!
Admittedly in the evenings when the blinds come down and there's no glorious sunlight streaming and I don't love it. But, I love how it looks so much during the day that I'm willing to deal with that.
Gratuitous close up of my $5 grocery store gladiolus ?.
It's only been two days since I've gone without curtains, so I will report back when I post my fall home tour on September 29th for the #FabFallFest.
Let me know friends, would you ever go curtainless?
Thanks for stopping by, see you next time.

Either way your home looks fantastic! I know, no help! When we moved in our home about 9 years ago I started removing all the blinds and now all we have is curtains and I love it!

Thanks Darnetha! You know I kinda wish I had the option to remove or at least change them, but as renter we cant.

It is really so gorgeous! If I had windows like that I would definitely go curtain less! It's like having nice legs and wearing long skirts 😛

Such a good analogy Carli LOL! Thanks sweetie!

I can't lie, when we moved into our house I seriously debated going curtainless. Not just for the full effect of the natural light, but also a bit of laziness on my part. 😉 In the end though, I did end up putting up some curtains, though I sometimes think about taking them down. Your windows are so stunning, and I love being able to see their natural beauty without curtains. Definitely giving me food for thought!

Hi Celeste, I have to admit before the last few weeks not having curtains, is not something I ever really considered. For me part of it is laziness too ? You should give it a try, as long as you feel comfortable with the privacy piece!

Your home is beautiful with or without window coverings. The question is if you feel that comfortable with your home being completely exposed to the outside. As long as you and your family is comfortable that's all that matters.
Linda P. says
Ida, that was top of mind when I first started thinking about going curtainless. I'm not keen on living in a "fish bowl" and I'm glad in the evenings I can just put the blinds down!

Your bold! Your house is beautiful so either way it looks great... but me... I like it with the curtains, and shuck the blinds..
Linda P. says
You know what Jamala every so often I like to shake things up LOL.I wish we had the option to take the blinds down, but since we are renting it's not.

Ha, first of all I have to say that I love light streaming through the house. I am a huge fan of it. But now that we have just moved to this bigger house, I lack curtains downstairs. Hmmmmm... We have blinds but to me they look somewhat incomplete. Your windows are awesome and your home is beautiful.
Linda P. says
Thank you Zan! The light is also what gets me too. We also have blinds, I just rolled them all up!
