    The Easiest Christmas Decor Idea Ever!

    Hey friends! Ready or not, it's time to start getting into holiday prep mode. For my first holiday post of the season, I'm sharing my favorite easy Christmas decor idea!

    So what is the easiest Christmas decor idea ever you ask?

    Well, it's simple filling any bowl, vase, apothecary jars, or small basket {any pretty vessel will do} with ornaments!

    Now, I know this is not mind-blowing or anything, but it is the literally the easiest Christmas decor ever.

    In addition to being my go to year after year when I need to create a quick, pretty, and inexpensive Christmas decor vignette.

    Some folks consider this a last minute decorating idea {and it's great for that too}.

    However, for me, filling some sort of pretty container with ornaments is always part of my Christmas decorating plan.

    This is also a great way to showcase special ornaments that you may not want on a tree. For me, those would be my ever growing collection of vintage ornaments. The colors vary so much that they usually don't fit in with my trees theme. But, they always look good in a pretty bowl or glass vase!

    Plus, there's just a special feel to a bowl full of delicate ornaments!

    Here are some tips to create the most impact with this simple idea:

    • Vary the texture by using both matte and shiny ornaments
    • Use ornaments of different sizes and shapes
    • Use a single color for maximum impact
    • Add pinecones, beaded garlands, or even greenery for even more interest
    • Make it even more magical with the addition of fairy lights {I will be doing that this year}

    This idea also works with other containers like lanterns {big or small} for a whimsical look.

      Great idea Linda and it does make an impact. Also good for those ornaments you have that you don't want to add to the tree.
