Hey friends! If you saw the “before” tour of our new home, you know I love that we have hardwood flooring in our entire lower level. Including the kitchen and bathroom.
As much as I love having hardwood floors, they do require a certain amount of upkeep. Especially if you have pets and kids! Don't you love how kids always "forget" to take their shoes off {or maybe that's just my kids LOL}.
So let’s chat about the easiest way I've found to clean my hardwood floors for years now!
With being a full-time blogger in addition to being a mom and a.k.a. CEO of this entire house. Life is busy! Which means I’m always looking for quick and easy ways to clean my home.
Mopping floors all day? In the famous words of Sweet Brown, ain't nobody got time for that.
That's where the Bona spray mop paired with the Bona hardwood floor cleaner comes in!
I’ve been using Bona hardwood floor cleaner since my son was a toddler. It was a recommendation from a mommy friend who also had a little one in the crawling stage. My son will be 11 next month and Bona is still my go-to hardwood floor cleaner!
The Bona spray mop is so easy to use that you can easily let you kids tackle the floor cleaning for chores {don't tell your kids you heard it from me ha}.
My daughter who's 8, is a floor girl. You will find her on the floor at any given time playing with the cat, coloring, and possible eating {she definitely believe in the 5-second rule}.
Bona has Greenguard gold certification so it’s safe for use around your family.
The Easy Way To Clean Hardwood Floors
After years of moving {this is our 8th move} and living with different types of wood floors, this is the easy cleaning process I've come up with.
~Sweep
I always sweep before I mop, even if the floor doesn't look visibly dusty or dirty {trust me there's always dust}. Small vacuums are great for spot cleaning floors on a daily basis. But when I'm planning to mop, I've found nothing gathers dust and dirt like a good old fashion broom {especially along floorboards and hard to reach spots}.
~Mop
Once I'm done sweeping I use my premium Bona spray mop. My very favorite thing about using my Bona spray mop is the ability to have the mop and easy to refill hardwood floor cleaner all in one.
Making it much easier and less time consuming than dragging a heavy bucket around. I can spray the floor with Bona's no residue hardwood cleaner and mop in one easy motion!
The bigger than average microfiber cleaning pad {that you can toss right into the wash BTW} means in a matter of minutes, I’m left with clean and shiny floors!
Well, friends, that's my easy way to clean hardwood floors with the help of my Bona spray mop and hardwood floor cleaner.
This simple weekly routine has worked for our busy family for years, making it easy to stay on top of at least this one household chore.

Thanks for all the details. To completely refinish a hardwood floor including sanding down the top layer to bare wood, then applying several coats of new finish like polyurethane expect to pay flooring professionals $1.50 to $4 per square foot, or $340 to $900 for a 15-by-15-foot room.
