Cozy and Colorful Fall Porch Decorating

Wonderful fall porch decorating ideas with pumpkins and mums! | thehomeicreate.com

Happy fall y'all! Today I'm joining  Even though the weather here isn't very fall like at the moment {but the cooler mornings are giving me hope}, it didn't stop me using some easy fall porch decorating ideas to give my back porch a cozy and colorful fall update!

If you signed up for my email newsletter, you already got a video sneak peek of my fall porch decor last week. Now I'm excited to share the full tour with everyone!

Welcome to fall on the back porch!

This is my first time decorating our screened in back porch for fall, and I'm thrilled with how big of an impact just bringing in a few new seasonal items and using what I already had on hand made. If I've said it once I've said it twice, always shop your home first!

My goal was to take our porch from the light and bright summer vibe I had going on for our summer porch update to colorful and cozy.

Just like my summer porch refresh, this seasonal porch update was also budget friendly!

Changing pillows is always an easy way to update any space, but the price can add up when buying multiples. To keep the cost down, I made the two floral pillows using napkins I purchased on sale from World Market {tutorial coming soon}! The shag pillow was a $10 clearance item from Target, and the fall y'all pillow is from HomeGoods. The "throw" is really a large scarf from Old Navy, I thrifted for $3 last year.

When I spotted this sign at HomeGoods I knew it would be perfect for over our loveseat, and I love the sentiment!

Using a variety of  wicker pieces I already owned really added warmth and texture to the porch.

This old wicker stool from Ikea {it predates my marriage, and I celebrated my 11 year anniversary on Friday} coupled with a large gold tray that I thrifted last summer makes a great coffee table.

Seasonal plants like mums and coleus, and of course lots of pumpkins helps bring in more color and seasonal flair! I may keep the decor in my house a bit on the more neutral side, but I love using fun bright colors when decorating outdoors!

It's practically magical when the sun goes down! Perfect spot to enjoy a fall treat at the end of the day.

This is my second fall living in the south and I've come to learn that spending time outdoors is even more enjoyable in the fall, which means we get to enjoy this space for a few more weeks!

10 minutes! Awesome look, simple yet with a punch, really nice. Hey back porch is amazing. I live in northern Illinois and I am feeling the cooler days so I love it and all the changes are starting to take place. So 2 questions, how do you keep squirrels or chipmunks away from real pumpkins, and when you shop from your home, don't you leave something empty,do you rearrange that room? I don't understand the concept in totality. Yes great to use something you are not using, but if you are then what, wouldn't you just go buy something? So are you using items that you have in storage but have used in your home previously and have stored but kept for future or what, please help? May seem obvious to some but trust me I am not in anyway gifted when it comes to decorating. We seem to donate a lot, once we grow tired of something, off to goodwill. So that's why this is new to me and doesn't make sense as far as taking from one room and using someplace else. Don't judge me, I was taught to share, and not throw away so we donate, sounds like I should be keeping things and thinking of new ways to use them,is that what you mean? Thanks for your imput. Lots of love to evetyone, and happy fall!
