We've come to the end of another $100 room challenge friends.
And I can't wait to show this girl's bedroom refresh that went from cluttered to cute in one month using just $100!
I feel like if I was sharing this girls bedroom refresh reveal in real life I would be squealing in excitement!
{technically I'm doing that anyway hehe}

Girls Bedroom Refresh
If you've been following along with me the past month you know that Kayla's room started out cluttered and disorganized.
It just generally needed a little refresh to become a room that matches my sweet Kayla's bright and fun personality.
Here is what her bedroom looked like at the beginning of the month.
Now we have this functional, organized, and super cute room that Kayla adores!
Girls Bedroom Refresh Organization
So the thing that made the BIGGEST difference was the decluttering Kayla and I did
We got rid of about 50% of the "stuff" {toys, old books, art supplies, etc...} that was in her small room. Creating a nice fresh canvas to work with.
Since we got rid of so much "stuff". I was able to get rid of the wall of shelves. In its place now is her desk and two very organized shelves.
After using the KonMari method to declutter her room. We were left with just the things that bring Kayla joy {mainly her arts and crafts supplies}.
So in week 3, I organized her crafts supplies using mostly Dollar Store containers and DIY labels.
The remainder of her toys also has a dedicated space now too.
Two blue bins on the shelf hold her Legos and Barbie accessories.
A shoe holder behind the door holds her Barbies dolls {if you can believe it we got rid of at least 80% of her Barbie dolls}.
I shared that little Barbie storage hack with you guys during Kayla's last room makeover.
Her stuffed animals and misc toys are stored in the Quinn white washed toy chest I got from Pottery Barn on a crazy good sale last year.
Cleaning up is a breeze now that there is a place for everything.
My favorite new thing in the room {and Kayla's as well} is the large DIY bulletin board I created to hold all of Kayla's masterpieces.
It's Seriously one of the easiest DIY's I've ever tackled!
I also found a cute little face cup from Target to hold the pins {sorry not on their website}.
Girls Bedroom Refresh Decor
Now that we moved her desk to the other side of the room. There was enough space to shift her Ikea KURA bed from in front of the window to along the wall the desk was on.
This instantly opened up the room which is great. But, it also left a sea of beige carpet between the desk and bed. Not so great.
To fix that I moved the blue floral rug from our living room to this room. I planned on switching it out for a more neutral rug anyway.
It adds the perfect pop of color. Not to mention blue is Kayla's favorite color!
These adorable Katy Smail illustrations from Darling magazine framed in some cheap Ikea frames give this side of the room some personality and more color.
If the mirror looks familiar, it's because you might have seen it in my One Room Challenge office/guest room reveal.
Kayla wanted a mirror there to practice her dancing and everything else little girls do in front of the mirror {like trying on mom's lipstick I guess LOL}.
Kayla's other favorite thing in her room by her own admission is having her wall light and acrylic book ledge up.
She is an avid reader and loves having whichever book{s} she's reading at the moment right at her fingertips.
Since the daybed in Kayla's previous room was too big for this small room. We got her the Kura from Ikea.
The major selling point is that it's reversible. We chose to set it up as a loft bed to give her space underneath.
A thin mattress that I ordered on Amazon along with cushy pillows makes it a perfect spot for spending time reading, playing, and more!
You can always find Kayla in her self-described "girl cave". I will be adding some fairy lights and little curtains to complete her girl cave soon, so stay tuned for that project.
The cute llama decals we got from Dollar Tree add a fun touch to this space.
Honestly when we moved into this house a year ago everything from Kayla's old room was sort of placed in here with no real rhyme or reason.
And I felt extremely guilty about the state of her room and not tackling it sooner.
But now to see it all bright and organized makes me feel so happy. Especially when I see how much Kayla loves her room now!
A big thank you to Erin from Lemons Lavender and Laundry for hosting the $100 Room Challenge. Without it to give me some motivation and weekly accountability. I'm not sure I would've whipped this room into shape in such a short amount of time!
Here is the total cost breakdown for this $100 Room Challenge
DIY bulletin board – $21.98
Craft/shelf organization - $38
New sheets - $24
Small pink cart - $10
Llama decals -$1
Face cup {pin holder on bulletin board} -$5
