Let the movies and TV tell it Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that are all about couples (and overpriced dinners).

But if you have kids, don't they deserve a little extra love on Valentine's Day too?!

While these super easy to make heart shaped waffles don't require much effort. It's the kind of gesture that will surely make your kids feel extra special and create some great memories!

So how do you make these heart shaped waffles? Easy!

    • Buy your favorite waffle mix (we used Bisquick). Follow the directions on the box as normal.
    • Add 2 tablespoon of Red Velvet cake mix for every 1 cup of waffle mix you use. This will give you the pretty pink(ish) red color and a slightly sweeter flavor.
    • Cook, as usual, using a waffle a maker.
    • Once cooked, use a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut the waffles.

Easy peasy right! Add some fruit and juice and you have a fun and festive breakfast for Valentine's Day that is easy enough to make on a weekday morning.

If your mornings are as hectic as mine this can also be a fun weekend activity to do together (that's what we did).

I hope you try this fun and easy Valentine's Day (or any day) breakfast idea!

    See you, next time friends!

      Hi Linda
I had been following "The Home I Create" since about 2018 and really enjoyed seeing your home.
However I stopped receiving updates. Happy you are back or did I miss your blog emails somehow?
      Your home is beautiful.
