Even if it’s something simple like these pretty dried orange slices turned ornaments.
I discovered dried orange slices during the holidays back when my daughter Kayla was in pre-school.
As a parent volunteer, I would work in her classroom a few times a month. While helping Kayla’s teacher decorate the classroom Christmas tree I noticed she was using dried orange slices as ornaments.
Growing up in a Haitian household I was not familiar with this. But she was more than happy to share how to easily dry them in the oven.

A FEW NOTES
~ Keep in mind you’re not trying to bake the orange slices but dry them. So don’t turn up the temperature in hopes of speeding up the drying process because you will end up with crispy baked orange slices instead of pretty dried ones.
~ Also do not try to bake them directly on a baking sheet. They will burn and stick. So it’s a must you use the cooling rack.
~ Once I take them out of the oven I usually let them sit overnight on the cooling rack to ensure they are nice and dry.
