Hey friends! I'm so excited to share this fun and special Halloween idea with you! BOO It Forward. Have you heard of it? In case you haven’t, it’s when someone secretly leaves a BOO Kit {more on that later} treats at your door. Then you get to BOO someone else, and on and on it goes!
I only recently discovered BOO'ing myself. In our neighborhood, Halloween is a holiday enjoyed by both adults and kids, making it even more fun! To add to the festive spirit, why not invite some neighbors over and create BOO Kits together?! It's a great way to get the whole neighborhood in the BOO'ing spirit!
BOO Kit Making Station
To keep it cute and make our neighborly get-together a little more festive. I added a bit of Halloween flair to my coffee station and created a BOO Kit buffet with a modern ghost theme.
The BOO printable banner really pulled the modern ghost theme together. I simply hung them with some pretty gold washi tape. You can get the download link at the end of this post.
My favorite apothecary jars made an appearance with the addition of some fun Halloween stickers.
Oh and let's keep it real there will definitely be some candy tasting going down {that's why I got the big bag of candy 😄}!
I also served some old fashion donuts for us to munch on while we sip coffee and put together the BOO Kits.
How To Make BOO Kits
Putting a BOO Kit together is super simple and you only need a few things. You will, of course, need candy.
To get the most bang for my buck I stopped by Walmart and purchased the MARS® Halloween mummy candy bag in the seasonal aisle.
Also, you guys keep an eye out for special Spider-Man bags this season in addition to mummy bags. You can also get the Spider-Man Homecoming DVD & Blue-Ray on October 17th at Walmart.
Ok, back to the candy LOL. I got the one with SNICKERS® Fun Size {my favorite}, TWIX® Fun Size, Starburst® Fun Size, MILKY WAY® Fun Size, and 3 MUSKETEERS® Fun Size.
Supplies -
- Small white pails
- Black tissue paper
- Permanent Marker
- Scissors
- Ribbon or twine
- Hole punch
- Free BOO-YA printable {download link at the end of the post}
Now let's put it all together. Start by drawing a ghost face on the bucket using a permanent marker. Stuff the tissue paper in the pails. I found the black tissue paper from American Greetings also at Walmart.
Tie the cute free BOO-YA printable {download link at the end of the post} to the pail handle by using the hole punch and bakers twine. Next, fill the pail with yummy candy and small treats. I decided to add some cute pumpkin stickers for the littles that were also from American Greetings.
Last but not least, print the You've Been BOO'd Printable card that explains what BOO'ing is and how to BOO It Forward.
Cut, fold, and tape the openings together then tuck it in the pail. FYI I printed mine at 50% so it would fit in the pails, and that's it!
So let's do some friendly neighborhood BOO'ing!
Imagine how thrilled your unsuspecting neighbor, friends, co-workers, or relative will be to find this cute BOO Kit on their doorstep filled with treats and no tricks {I know that was so corny but I couldn't help it 😂}.
How are you celebrating this Halloween season? I’d love to hear about who you are BOO’ing this year.
