Hello!
I’m Linda, welcome to my little corner of the internet! I was born in Haiti, raised in New York City (Queens and Brooklyn to be specific) and I currently live in Georgia. I’m married to an amazing man (Delandis or “D”), together we’re parenting two of the sweetest and funniest kids around Jaden (12) and Kayla (10).
Since I was a young girl I’ve had a love for interior design and decor. Growing up I lived in a house that was always decorated in some form or fashion. Everything from 80’s style (think gold etagere, brass bar cart, and glass furniture), to a French country/English Regency style mash-up which included a ceramic figurine collection that rivaled any in New York (my dusting skills are very honed LOL).
While I enjoy reading decor blogs and magazines oohing and aahing over the gorgeous pictures, what I really take great pleasure in is the fun {and thrill} of hunting for a good bargain during my many thrift stores runs or finding a unique piece at an antique shop.
I also love reimagining and remixing my furniture and decor {that’s code for moving furniture around} as much as I do coffee {which is a lot!}.
Due to my husband’s career, in our 13 years of marriage, we’ve lived in 8 states and owned 3 homes. I’m not a professional designer or a die-hard DIY’er {the closest I’ve ever gotten to a power tool is a drill}, however in my many many moves I’ve come to learn that decorating your home doesn’t have to be intimidating nor is it about having a bunch of shiny new things and spending a ton of money.
To me it’s about valuing what I have, embracing the imperfections, and learning to love my personal style even if it breaks a few decorating “rules”.
I believe creating a home that’s beautiful and functional even on a small budget can be achieved using a little resourcefulness, a willingness to learn, and the resolution to make the best of the home you have now!
My hope is that my blog inspires you to create a look you love in your home (trust me if I can do this, anyone can do it!), as I share my journey turning our current rental house into a home that reflects our family. Along the way, I will also share thrifty finds, practical decorating ideas, holiday and seasonal decor inspiration, simple DIY projects, and the occasional musings on life.
As always, thank you so much for stopping by!
