Hey friends!
We are officially in the homestretch of the One Room Challenge.
Next Thursday I will be revealing my dining room turn home office.
Catch up here: Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 & 4 video update
If you saw my video update last week you know I had some major setbacks in this challenge.
As of last week, I had no lighting, chairs, rug, and artwork. You can check out last week's video to get that whole mess of a story 😂.
Well hallelujah, I now have all of the above!
I ordered the chairs and rug online. And not without reason {considering I had to ship back a pair of chairs and a rug during this challenge} I was pretty nervous.
With a big sigh of relief, I'm happy to say I love them both in the space.
Again if you saw my video update from last week you know that I was totally freaking out about the wallpaper panels. I have those now as well! They look great and was so worth the wait.
The game changer though in the room you guys is the chandelier! It was only installed this morning, which is why this post is so late.
This chandelier was an absolute labor of love. I ordered it online from Overstock knowing that I would have to DIY it a little {affiliate link}. I was up past midnight last night individually attaching each and every one of those crystals after I sprayed it gold. It was well worth the effort.
So needless to say I'm leaps and bounds from where I was last week in terms of progress.
But as it often goes in life, when you fix one thing something else proverbially breaks. When I told you guys last week that my IKEA shelf really wasn't in the best shape, that apparently was an understatement.
I painted it using my HomeRight Finish Max sprayer last week and it looked fine at first. So I'm not exactly sure what happened, maybe all the rain and humidity we've had here lately. But the oil base paint just did not adhere well. It's very rough and sort of peeling {sigh}.
I've been furiously looking for another option and I've run into two big roadblocks each time I find something viable. Either the timing doesn't work in terms of shipping or it's out of my budget.
I'm really trying my hardest just to take it in stride, and just be happy with how far the room has come. If I find something and it happens to work out for the reveal, great. If not, I'm ok living with it as is until I find something that I love 😊.
Click on the video to come shopping with me for a few last minute things, and sneak peek at the new sideboard I found!
Well, that's all for this week you guys. I still have some last minute decisions to make, but I'm so flipping happy that all the big pieces are in place {except the shelf of course}.
I can't wait to share the whole space all prettied up with you guys next week!
