For my Christmas space, I’m sharing my bright and blue Christmas family room!
I love neutral pieces when it comes to decorating, like my white slipcovered Ikea Ektorp sectional.
But, during the holidays I always think it's fun to add a pop of festive color to your decor!
So this year the addition of some blue ornaments, pillows and small decor. Our family room transformed into our bright and blue Christmas family room.
Bright and Blue Christmas Family Room
Behind our white sectional sofa, we have our blue thrifted console table. On top is one of my favorite Etsy purchases ever. My huge brass deer.
To tie the table in with the rest of the more neutral pieces in our family room. I added this piece of faux fur fabric I thrifted a few years ago.
My collection of abstract ceramic Christmas trees {old from Target} finishes off the simple vignette.
If you couldn't tell blue is my favorite color.
And while in our living and dining room I went for a more traditional look with my mostly blue and white decor.
In the family room, the overall look is way more casual!
This is the room where we spend most of our time. And where the kids play and hang out with friends. So I want it to feel warm and welcoming!
My favorite way to create a feeling of warmth and coziness is to add lot's of cushy pillows and soft throws.
The different textures add interest to my white sectional!
Because the coffee table is usually the landing spot for game controllers, snacks, and the like. I kept the centerpiece simple.
In a tray, I placed a footed bowl with some fresh greenery and shatterproof ornaments. Plus an amazing smelling candle {vanilla brulee} tucked inside a small boxwood wreath.
The tray makes it easy to move everything out of the way when the table is needed for everyday use.
Everyone's favorite addition to the family room is the Christmas tree! While the kids and hubby liked my very feminine blue and white Christmas tree in the living room.
They all love this much more toned down tree LOL.
This is my Walmart flocked tree that I've used for the last 2 years. Highly recommend it!
I kept all the ornaments neutral using silver, gold, white, and textured ornaments. With the pop of color coming from the blue glass ornaments.
Speaking of favorites, this cozy seating corner is everyone's favorite! Which is a good and bad thing, since the kids will sometimes fuss over who was sitting there first hehe.
As you can tell I love candles! But I mostly use the battery operated versions {like the ones on either side of the TV}.
When I do burn real candles, it's mostly in the evening when we've all settled down for the day and there no kids running around.
I also kept the fireplace decor fairly simple. A pair of faux topiaries {old from Ikea} flanks my favorite round mirror. They are in these darling white and gold polka vases from Opalhouse Christmas line at Target.
Tucked into the same long metal tray I used in my fall mantel decor is a few clippings of greenery. Along with some mercury candle holders, and these cute bottle brush Christmas trees which are also from the Opalhouse house line at Target.
Alright friends, I loved having you come by today and I hope to see you again very soon!
There are still more spaces in my home like my hot cocoa bar and winter bedroom decor that I can’t wait to share with you!

Another gorgeously decorated holiday space, Linda! I just love your use of blues (great choice!) with crisp whites and gold accents. These blend so well together and yet stand out on their own, too. I am obsessed with those blue bottlebrush trees - so pretty!

So beautiful! I love the winter peacefulness of your decor. I also have a Walmart flocked tree and I love it! I just don't know how people can do white sofas with children. Merry Christmas!
Linda P. says
I'm pretty much obsessed with flocked trees now LOL. You know while the white will der dirty quick than a darker color. Being able to wash and bleach makes it work it. Thank you Chris for stopping by today and Merry Christmas!
