Hey friends, happy humpday!
I hope your week is off to a great start. Mine is starting off with an unexpected project.
Painting the front door black. You can see the door painted black here!
If you saw my new home tour video. You know painting the inside of the front door is something I've always planned on doing.
However, I did not plan on doing it until after The One Room Challenge {ORC}.
But, I did not think about the fact that the front door will be visible in my ORC reveal photos until now.
The red door stands out like a sore thumb alongside my decor {which isn't looking the best in this photo, yikes!}.
And don't even get me started on those stained glass decals.
So a painting we go!
Although, there is a part of me that's yelling, "paint it white and be safe!".
But, I've always loved the look of black interior doors and I'm willing to go out on a limb and give the black paint a try.
Painting The Front Door Black Inspiration
I found no shortage of lovely examples of black interior doors on Pinterest. Which has given me the confidence to go for it!

I've narrowed it down to 3 colors:
-Benjamin Moore Mopboard Black
-Sherwin Williams Iron Ore
-Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron
I won't be painting until this weekend, so if you have any black paint recommendations, I would love for you to share them with me!
Also, what do you think? Will the black be too bold?
Read the follow-up!

Yes, paint it black! Black is a color that should be in every room. In Accessories or furniture. It's the new "it" color, at least for me:)

I have used SW Iron Ore on furniture. I think it would look great on a door.

I love the black door.. I think the stained glass will look more elegant withthe black.. the White would make them look more whimsical. . I can't wait to see it

Jamala, I like the idea of the black with the white as well. As far as “the stained glass” it’s just peeled and stick, and I’m definitely peeling it off 😆
