    Big Boy Room Reveal

    I can't believe it's finally here! It's reveal day for Project: #1room30days!

    Oh my goodness, what a challenging but really rewarding and fun experience this has been! Like I  said in my first post, this is my first time participating in a project like this and well the time just flew by!

    13091925_10101290140759838_5305067738288728692_n

    It was really {really} down to the wire getting this room finished on time. Now that it's done, I absolutely love it! I'm so excited to share the final results with you!

    If you are new here, welcome! You can catch up with where this room started and how it came together in my weekly progress posts below.

    Week 1 ||  Week 2 ||  Week 3 || Week 4

    Now get ready for some photo overload, sorry {not sorry ?}! Sources are listed below the relevant photos!

    I started with this vision board. I really wanted to create a space for Jaden that's stylish, functional, and reflects his interests {animals, Star Wars, and of course Legos amongst other things} without being too juvenile.

    And,this where we ended up!

    Boys Room Makeover160501-74

    Seriously this vintage letterpress is one of my favorites pieces in the room! The little cubbies are just the perfect size for his Lego mini figures and his little collectibles {Jaden is definitely like his mama and likes to collects things}.

    Boys Room Makeover160502-8

    I secretly wish I had this lucite piece on my desk!

    Boys Room Makeover160501-42

    Jaden's room has the best view in the house!

    desk chair  ||  desk  ||  lamp  ||  curtains {similar} - HomeGoods

    Boys Room Makeover160501-27

    pillow ||  rug {similar} - Ross Dress for Less  ||  stool {I painted it} ||  arm chair

    You can never have too many baskets in a kids room!

    Boys Room Makeover160501-17

    basket  ||  throw - HomeGoods

    Boys Room Makeover160501-75

    storage towers ||  shelving unit  ||  fabric bins || magazine holders ||  planter

    Boys Room Makeover160501-78

    Just about all of the furniture {bed, arm chair, stool, desk, and all of the storage} is from Ikea. Mixing in some vintage pieces and thrifted finds throughout the room keeps it from looking like a showroom floor. Plus it helps create a space that's uniquely Jaden's!

    Boys Room Makeover160501-69

    I told you guys in week 3 that the upholstered headboard may not happen due to a few hiccups, but I'm so glad it came together. I feel it helps anchor this whole corner of the room!

    Boys Room Makeover160501-7

    Boys Room Makeover160501-70

    frames

    You guys can you believe these Star Wars prints where a Target dollar spot find, $1 for 12 of them! I also purchased the inexpensive pre-matted frames from Target, making this art display less than $50!

    Boys Room Makeover160429-7

    Boys Room Makeover160501-3

    Throw - Marshalls  || comforter {similar} & Pillow - TJ Maxx

    The campaign nightstand is hands down my favorite piece in the room! I will be posting a full tutorial soon.

    Boys Room Makeover160501-13

    The gold vintage metal change dispenser, needlepoint space photo, and {very heavy} brass and stone bookends were all thrifted finds.

    Boys Room Makeover160501-67

    If you couldn't tell Jaden is into Star Wars! It just warms my heart that hubby {all on his own}, put together this thoughtful memorabilia frame together as a birthday gift for Jaden this year! The Star Wars figurines was a gift from his aunt a few years ago.

    Boys Room Makeover160501-64

    I went on a field trip to a science Museum with Jaden's class last week where we purchased the piece of Agate. Placed in an inexpensive frame, it makes for a quick and easy, but meaningful decor.
    Boys Room Makeover160501-63

    frame || animal book {has great photos for framing}

    I know I already said this, but I just love how everything turned out!  This room has come a long way in the last 4 weeks! I wanted it to be a space that is youthful but still have character, and I think mission accomplished!

    Here is a quick reminder of where the room began, yikes!

    A huge thank you to Alaya at behindthebiggreendoor.com the creator and organizer of project #1room30days!  She kept us motivated and was incredible suportive throughout this whole process!

    Now, I'm going to collapse in the nearest chair with a much deserved cup of coffee!

    So what do you think?! I hope you love the finished space as much as I do!

    Thanks for stopping by! Until next time!

      Linda what a great transformation. You turned it into a star wars room. I know Jaden must love it. I really liked how you mixed in the new Ikea pieces with some older vintage finds. And the letterpress with the little lego pieces is adorable. Great transformation.

      Great transformation! 30 days well spent. Love the Lego storage system. My husband and I sat amidst a Lego scattered toyroom wondering what to do with it all! Thanks for linking up with Funtastic Friday.

      What a great space! I love how well you've blended kid stuff with a more mature style he can grow up with. Is that a brass chariot?! I've never seen one before--so cool! And of course I'm a big fan of the campaign chest 🙂

        Gretchen, that is the hope that this room can grow with him! The brass chariot was a random thrifting find last summer that I had to get, although I had no where to put it at the time. Thank you for the taking the time to comment!

      Ah-mazing! I love how bright it is and although it isn't a huge room it doesn't look small and cluttered. You did a great job! Now, I'm headed to my sons room to attempt to make it look halfway decent lol.

      LINDA!!!!! Oh.......emmmm......geeeee....how do you do it, every single time?! I've read this post 4 times now, and each time I'm just blown away. You have such a knack for details and that's what I love most about your style. Every single piece and accent was well thought-out; even down to the smallest pieces. I love that about you and about every single project you tackle. I love details, and can appreciate how much you put into yours.
