Hey everyone! I'm excited to share that I will be participating in another round of Project #1Room30Days, hosted by Alaya from Behind The Big Green Door. As the name suggests we have 30 days to makeover one room from start to finish.
In my very first time participating in Project #1Room30Days, I tackled my son Jaden's bedroom. I'm not going to lie, it was certainly a challenge, but fun at the same time! I'm still over the moon with how Jaden's room turned out!
It was such a rewarding experience, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join in on the fun again! This time I'm making over my daughter Kayla's bedroom. I'm so excited {and Kayla even more so than me} to create a room that is functional and decorated in a way that will grow with her!
Here's Kayla's room currently, not as cute as the pictures on Instagram and Facebook would lead you to believe - ha!
Admittedly her room is not awful or anything, but it's in need of an update to make it more functional for her and just generally prettier and better organized.
So here's the direction I'm heading in for Kayla's pretty in pink girls room. My aim is to make it a bright, happy, and whimsical {all words that can be used to describe Kayla herself!} space without it being too juvenile.
The big pieces like the bed, desk, chair, and rug have already been finalized. However, the artwork, accessories, and lighting are still up in the air.
Here are my plans for each week if everything goes according to plan.
Week 1: Finalize room plans, make all online orders, and pick out paint color.
Week 2: Declutter, paint, and pick out fabric for window seat.
Week 3: Reupholster window seat, set up new bed.
Week 4: Accessories and window treatment.
Week 5: Reveal
I'm super excited you guys to get Kayla's big girl bedroom makeover underway, but also nervous! I anticipate the process will be a bit more involved this time around, because the kids are home on summer break.
Plus unlike Jaden, Kayla is really invested in this makeover and has a lot of opinions LOL! I'm sure having her involved will be fun, but will also present its own set of challenges.
I hope you will follow along with my progress over the next few weeks! I will be posting updates every Monday, so consider signing up to get my new posts delivered right to your inbox. I promise, no spam ever!

If the makeover for your daughter's room is anything like the one you did for your son's room, I'm sure it will look amazing. You are definitely dedicated to get it all done in 30 days! My room makeovers tend to take much, much longer haha. Can't wait to see how it goes and for the big reveal!

Hi Celeste {love your name by the way}, Thank you so much for your nice comment. I'm one of those people that needs a deadline or else I would totally procrastinate {like I've done for the past year} LOL. Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.
