Happy first day of fall! To celebrate my favorite season I’m sharing our simple fall fireplace decor.
I don't know if you know this but one of my decorating challenges is the fireplace.
Not sure what it is, but I'm just never quite satisfied with the outcome when I decorate my mantel.
And if I start using small objects the whole thing gets away from me.
Which is why I tend to keep my mantle decor very simple with a few large-scale pieces.
You can see my very easy process for decorating our simple fall fireplace in the video below but let's talk about it also.
To start I created this very simple mini pumpkin and eucalyptus tray that’s sitting right under the mirror.
The long skinny metal tray came from HomeGoods. As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for something like this
On the right side of my simple fall fireplace mantel, I added a trio of mismatched candleholders in a similar wood tone.
These wood candleholders add height and texture. In addition to creating a pretty glow in the evenings.
To balance out the candles I placed a large glass jug with some faux fall leaves and greenery on the opposite side of the mantel.
I've had these faux greenery branches for ages. In my 2016 fall home tour, they held their own when mixed with some real fall leaves.
This cute mercury owl that I've had forever {or at least 6 years} compliments the other pieces on the mantel with its warm color.
To complete my simple fall fireplace I added a basket in front of the fireplace to hold some fall essentials. A cozy blanket, soft seasonal pillow, and some birch logs.
And of course what's a fall fireplace without some pumpkins right?! I just love mixing real and faux LOL.
All there's left to do now is to grab my pumpkin spice latte and enjoy the glow of the candles and my simple fall fireplace.
Ha, just kidding I have to go fold laundry now, but that doesn't mean I can't still enjoy it though.
See how my simple fall fireplace came together

I love how this mantel decor scheme turned out, Linda. Mantels can be tricky to decorate, as you say, but I think keep it scaled down brings out the beauty of simple decorating. All the pieces stand out and look so polished together!

Thank you Jelica! They are so tricky I envy people who can just decorate a mantle like it’s no big deal 😅
