I drink tea and coffee year round but during the colder months hot chocolate is added to my repertoire of warm drinks!
There's something so satisfying about a warm cup of hot chocolate when you come in from the cold.
Last year I set up a small impromptu hot chocolate station on my counter. It got so much use that I knew I wanted to recreate a warm drink station again this year!
I put this simple and fun hot chocolate bar together quickly and on the cheap {always my favorite way}!
My rule of thumb is to always shop my house first! That's one of the best ways I've found to save money on small projects like this.
This trio of small apothecary jars {Ball jars would work nicely too} I had in another part of the house was perfect for holding hot chocolate mix-ins like marshmallows, and little treats like these yummy gingerbread cookies {I found these at Walmart last year and got them again this year, they are super tasty and only $2}.
Since we make hot chocolate using our Keurig, I got hot cocoa K-cups instead of traditional hot cocoa mix.
This nutty nutcracker mug {see what I did there LOL} was a fifty cent thrift find, and I smile every time it catches my eye!
Can you believe these adorable mugs are from the dollar store?!
This cute and free printable from Mountain Modern Life was the perfect finishing touch to our hot chocolate bar!
Do we drink hot chocolate every single day? No, but a hot chocolate bar is a nice touch for the holiday season and the kids just love it, which really warms my heart.
So just remember, there is no right or wrong way to create a hot chocolate bar and it definitely doesn't have to be expensive. Shop your house and use what you already own and fill in the missing pieces with a few inexpensive additions!
Thank you for stopping by today friends and I hope you come back for my Christmas home tour at the end of the week!
Have you put together a hot chocolate bar for the holiday season? I would love to hear about it!

I'm in love with your hot chocolate station, it's so nice and Christmassy. The apothecary jars are great, I may have to use that idea. Great setup!!
