    Simple Hot Chocolate Bar {video}

    Hey friends! Around my neck of the woods, there's definitely a chill in the air now. So our annual hot chocolate bar has been getting a lot of use!

    DIY Hot Cocoa Station

    The other day I forgot to warm up the car before taking the kids to school. We froze our buts off you guys LOL. Thank goodness their school is very close.

    When I got home, I immediately headed to my coffee bar for a cup of coffee. And I thought you know what? Time to set up this year's hot chocolate bar.

    You can see my previous coffee bar tuned hot chocolate bar HERE and HERE.

    When setting up my hot chocolate station, I keep things simple.

    I always start by filling small apothecary jars with all the basics needed for the perfect cup of cocoa.

    Mini marshmallows, old fashion mint sticks, these gingerbread man cookies {we get them every year and they are delicious!}, and of course hot chocolate. The hot chocolate K-Cups makes it easy for the kids to make their own hot chocolate.

    I place the apothecary jars {except the ones with the hot cocoa K-Cups} in this cute galvanized tiered tray I got from Walmart in the summer.

    To tie in the black and white touches I've added to my Christmas decor this year. I used my favorite initial mugs from Anthropologie, a chalkboard sign I got from HomeGoods a couple of years ago, and some black and white and gold paper straws {great for stiring}.

    When I set up our hot chocolate bar, I also take that opportunity to style the shelves as well with some holiday decor or winter decor.

    The little deer are salt and pepper shakers I got from Walmart several years ago. A little ribbon adds a festive touch.

    White Small Lantern with Gold Ornaments

    I got these gold nativity pieces from Target years ago. Although they are ornaments I've never used them on a tree before.

    Our breakfast nook is the perfect spot to sit down and enjoy our cocoa. Especially since that's the only place the kids are allowed to drink hot cocoa:).
