Hey friends! Each year I decorate my Christmas tree in a different theme. I've been doing this for over a decade. However, I have to say this year's sparkly and bright mercury glass Christmas tree is my favorite!
I'm sharing all the details with you as part of the My Home Style Christmas Tree hop hosted by Stephanie from Casa Watkins.

Sparkly and Bright Mercury Glass Christmas Tree
The inspiration for this year's mercury glass Christmas tree theme came from the faux mercury glass ornaments I found at Walmart. They look much more expensive than the $.94 I paid for them! Hubby is the real MVP though. He drove to several Walmarts, hunting down these ornaments for me.
After I found those "mercury glass" ornaments, everything fell into place. Using a combination of gold and silver glass ornaments {with a few whimsical pieces like the swan here and there}, our mercury glass Christmas tree just sparkles!
Nestled in with my real mercury glass ornaments, these faux versions hold their own!
The cream and black plaid grosgrain ribbon from Magnolia's new Heart and Hand line at Target keep the look from going too glam.
I pulled the black, white, and gold color scheme for my gift wrapping straight from the tree.
To keep things interesting I threw in a little animal print :).
One of my very favorite additions to this year's Christmas tree is the extra large basket it's sitting in. It was a lucky $20 find from HomeGoods.
I knew wanted the overall look to be more neutral than last year's red and white Christmas tree. Although, I was afraid it could be a bit boring. Also, I learned that loading up a Christmas tree with sparkly ornaments is the very opposite of boring LOL.
Having a flocked Christmas tree helped give the overall light and bright appearance. You can see my video review of this affordable Walmart flocked Christmas on my YouTube channel.
At night the glow of the tree is magical! The minute the sun goes down, the kids race each other to turn it on :).
I hope you enjoyed this look at my mercury glass Christmas tree! Now head on over to Deeply Southern Home for more Christmas tree decor inspiration.

Love your style Linda! I am more a classic/eclectic person when it comes to Christmas which is why I LOVED your theme last year with the red, white and gold. but I have to admit you hooked me in with this neutral theme this year! Love the black and white and the mercury glass! I even went out and got some of the faux mercury glass ornaments at Walmart. I just subscribed to your blog. Keep on with the great inspiration
