    Summer Tablescape

Hey friends! I'm so thrilled to have joined a talented group of bloggers to share how we refresh our homes for summer!

Be sure to check out all the other participants by using the links at the end of this post. We will be sharing new spaces each day this weekend so be sure to follow along! You can also keep up via Instagram and Facebook using the hashtag #SummerHomeRefresh

If this is your first time visiting my blog, welcome! I'm glad you're here {of course I'm always happy to see my “regulars” too!}.

Although I don't often put tablescapes together, but I really enjoy setting them up! You can see my normal set up in my summer home tour.

This casual summer tablescape was put together quickly, using only things I already had on hand with exception of the plant {which means you might spy some familiar items}.

You know I'm a firm believer in shopping your home first!

    Summer Tablescape160724-111

To start off, I began with a fun stripe "tablecloth" that's not really a tablecloth at all, but a throw! You can see it in my inexpensive screened porch makeover HERE.

It was the perfect base and set the tone for my "summer blues" color scheme.

To add some texture and give the table a more casual and summery feeling, I used some circular rattan place mats I got from Ross Dress For Less ages ago.

I skipped the charger and next came my favorite white plates {I love that you can dress them up or down}, layered with Blue Willow plates that reinforces the color scheme.

    Summer Tablescape160724-101

Now how perfect are these lucite napkin holders for a summer tablescape?! Coincidently I got them only a few days ago at an estate sale for a $1! They have these inlay of sea motifs like shells and seahorses. Just so cute!

    Summer Tablescape160724-38

To keep the casual feel, I opted to use our everyday silverware, and these fun recycled glasses that have a slight blue tint to them.

The centerpiece is what I call a happy accident. After searching high and low for hydrangeas with no luck. I went out on a limb and purchased this flowing wax plant from my local nursery for only a few dollars.

I simply put it in a thrifted soup tureen that's placed the on a cake stand for a little height and viola a super easy centerpiece, that looks better than I imagined it would.

I love the effect of the flowing leaves and the organic touch it adds to the table.

Linda, your Tablescape is really pretty. I love how the green ivy contrasts with the shades of blue and the pop of white. It's a calming and enjoyable setting. Great photo.

I love all of the blue colors in your beautiful summer tablescape, Linda! The greenery and driftwood add the perfect summer touch to the table. Using a throw as a tablecloth is such a great idea! I am all for shopping your own home for decor pieces! Such a great way to save money!

I love the simplicity/elegant touch you created. The setting has a cool calm effect like being at the beach. The brass seagulls were the perfect touch.. Two thumbs up on this!

Absolutely love this Linda! I love the throw idea for a tablecloth. The touches of blue are perfect for summer. But my favorite really is the centerpiece! It's so unique, organic and looks like a lovely plant! And yes, I love shopping my home too - so guilt free 🙂

Vin, thank you so much! I was desperate since I don't have any tablecloths at all, so I'm really glad the throw idea worked out! I have to admit the centerpiece is my favorite too. So glad you like it as a fellow plant lover! ?
