Tiny Pantry Project: Our Small Closet Pantry Reveal

Hey friends!

Remember when I shared those initial design plans and renderings for our small closet pantry? Well, it's DONE, and I'm absolutely thrilled with how it turned out!

Why We Even Did This

Here's the thing about new homes, sometimes what's "official" doesn't actually work for real life. Our house came with a designated pantry, but as I shared in my first post, the layout and accessibility were major issues.

We literally couldn't reach parts of the shelving because of how everything was positioned. I did not want to find myself playing Tetris every time I needed something from the back.

So we decided to transform this small closet adjacent to our kitchen into a custom pantry that would actually function the way we needed it to.

The Features I'm Obsessed With

Can we talk about this butcher block countertop for a second? It's the one thing I absolutely wanted. Since we have a very open floor plan, it's nice to have a spot to tuck away our small appliances like the toaster and air fryer.

Plus, that butcher block warmth against the white cabinetry is chef's kiss.

And those curvy brackets! They add such a beautiful detail to what could have been a pretty basic shelving setup. I know they take up a bit of space, but they are so pretty, I was willing to take the loss 😂.

The lower cabinet storage with doors was high on my list. I wanted some closed storage for things that tend to get messy, like snacks. Because let's be honest, some stuff just looks messy no matter how you arrange it (I'm looking at you, bags of chips).

From Plans to Reality

While I love a good DIY, I also know my limitations LOL. So we opted to work with a talented carpenter to bring our vision to life. And seeing those renderings become reality was such a satisfying experience.

The actual build process was smooth, and having a professional handle it meant we got a finished look that feels built-in rather than added on.
